"After graduating from Kimball I attended the University of Oklahoma for one year and transferred to UT Austin for the next three years. I graduated with majors in History and Political Science and a Minor in Psychology. Back in those days they just gave away Teaching Certificates, so I had those also.

"I married my wife Sandra in 1970, the month after graduating, and we have been married for almost 37 years now. We have two children - both UT Austin graduates: Alison is a Counselor and Aministrator at a Residential Treatment Facility for Emotionally Disturbed children (here in Austin), and Reid is halfway through the UT Business School of Accounting. (After 3 years in the newspaper business based on his Journalism BA, he decided that that was not the pathway to satisfaction, fame, riches, or a good night's sleep.)

"Sandra and I have lived in Austin ever since undergraduate days. After majoring in French and History, Sandra discovered that her additional gifts included a brain that was apparently hard-wired for computer science, and she has worked in that field (in the real world of business) ever since 1980 as a programmer, systems analyst, and administrator. I have worked in the field of Special Education for my entire career, first as a teacher for about 13 years, and then as an Educational Diagnostician. Most of my consulting and evaluations involve children with Autism, ADHD, and Learning Disabilities. Not exactly the career that I had in mind ca. 1973 when I had been in graduate school in History for about 5 semesters, but it has bestowed many unanticipated blessings. I continue to work at two elementary schools, being officed at one that requires a commute of at least 7/8 of a mile, and I will probably keep doing that for a few more years.

"It has been a gratifying and interesting experience to hear from many classmates over the past 6+ years and to read the summaries of what we all have been up to, lo these four decades. We all owe Michael Gaddy and Mark McCord a great THANK YOU for their continuing efforts on behalf of the Class by maintaining the website and sending the Birthday messages, and I hereby express mine."
