"After graduation from KHS in 1966, I attended North Texas State University (now University of North Texas) in Denton, majoring in music. Having spent my years at Kimball hanging out in the band room as orchestra violinist and band secretary, it was inevitable that I was a music major at NTSU.

"I graduated in 1970 with a BMus in violin performance, and spent the next few years teaching Suzuki method strings classes in Grand Prairie. Then my life took a sharp turn when I decided to enroll at Brite Divinity School at TCU, where I received my Master of Divinity degree in 1976. That same year I married George Smith, resulting in a hyphenated surname that defies most computer systems and alphabetizing methods. It works for us, though. We are George and Marjorie Procter-Smith, and in 1980 our son Jeremy Charles Procter-Smith was born. As far as we know, we are the only three Procter-Smiths in the world!

"In 1976, upon graduating from TCU, I entered the doctoral program in liturgical studies at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, and it was there that our son was born. When I graduated from Notre Dame, I was hired as professor of liturgical studies at Perkins School of Theology at SMU in Dallas. Never imagined I would return to my home! I have been a member of the faculty at Perkins since 1983, and for the past 5 years I was Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. For more academic information, my web page is http://www.smu.edu/theology/people/procter-smith.html.

"On the family front, our son Jeremy lives and works in Dallas, where he is a dispatcher for the North Texas Tollroad Authority. George's two older sons are married, one living with wife and children (ages 4 and 2) in North Carolina, and the other in Los Angeles with wife and 15-month-old son. They all came to visit us recently as we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. My husband George retired at the end of December 2005, and we moved to our new home on 44 acres in southern Navarro County, where the deer and the coyote roam. We raise rabbits and enjoy riding our two Tennessee Walking Horses."
