"Contrary to predictions, my music career failed to launch. After graduation, I spent a year as a vocal major at what was then North Texas State in Denton; discovered opera was not for me. The Met and the theaters on Broadway never saw me, except as a member of the audience. But, I led children’s choirs in Texas and California, played piano for my church and sang at many weddings and funerals. I continue to fill my ears and my soul with music whenever I can.

"I describe myself as a multi-marrier, but the last one is the ONE! Married since 1989, Larry and I share 5 children and 10 adorable grandkids. Angela (my oldest) has had a long career supporting the commercial real estate business in Dallas, and has 3 absolutely beautiful girls, Katelyn, Hannah and Emily. There’s a half brother in there (Joey) but he’s already grown and gone, unless he needs gas or a new DVD. My son Ben and his wife live in San Angelo, and their kids all have 4 legs. Ben is a trained chef but actually allows me to order him around the kitchen for holiday dinners.

"Our blended family includes Michael, Delisa and Kenneth. Michael with 2 boys in south central Texas, Delisa, a very accomplished wardrobe consultant with 4 boys (bless her heart) in Dallas and Kenneth, mentoring some of your grandkids as a school principal in Fort Worth.

"It took me a while to find the right path professionally, but I did do so about 19 years ago, when I entered the health insurance arena. It was just a small step after 15 years in human resources. Specializing in group benefits for small employers, I finally opened my own agency in 2007. I am passionate about what we do, helping people navigate through their coverage, and holding people accountable for their promises.

"When we’re not at each other’s throats, Larry and I spend our time touring parts of this beautiful state with a Harley in the bed of our pickup, and an Airstream hooked on. And, lest I forget, with our own wonderful 4-legged kids, AJ and Reese."
