The 35th Reunion came about as a result of Internet discussions between Mark Stevens, Tony Whiddon and Marc McCord about getting our class together for a party of millennium proportions. Mark and Tony live remote to the DFW area, and since Marc was based in Dallas he took the initiative of putting together a business plan, then getting other classmates to form a committee to plan the 35th Reunion. The first meeting included Glenda Glass Guest, Peggy Finney Kowalski, Deborah Costin Clark, Bill Simpson, Carlton Stovall, Jim Holman, Steve Hughes, Michael Gaddy, Charles Goff and Marc McCord.

Upon voice vote, Marc McCord was elected Executive Chairman of the 35th Reunion Executive Committee. Michael Gaddy and Tony Whiddon were elected as Co-Vice Chairmen. Steve Hughes was elected as Finance Chairman, Jim Holman as Entertainment Chairman, Michael Gaddy as Communications Chairman, and Deborah Costin Clark as Secretary. Charlie Goff was later elected as Logistics Chairman. After Marc left the Committee for personal reasons in March, 2001, the group reorganized as the 35th Reunion Planning Team with Michael Gaddy becoming Communications Team Leader, Steve Hughes becoming Finance Team Leader, Jim Holman becoming Entertainment Team Leader and Charlie Goff becoming Logistics Team Leader to continue planning and producing the great event we had that summer.
